ANNUAL GOAL Given standard 5th grade general curriculum writing assignments, [Child's name] will edit his writing for spelling, punctuation, and grammar errors with fewer than 2 overlooked errors per 250 words, without assistance and will demonstrate this ability across all settings. Given typical 5th grade Daily Oral Language assignments, [Child's name] will independently correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar errors with 1 or fewer overlooked errors.

Given 5th grade written essay assignments, [Child's name] will produce a legible handwritten or typed final copy, following independent revisions for capitalization, punctuation, spelling and conventional English grammar, and [Child's name] will demonstrate this ability in all content areas and all settings.

Given 5th grade written essay assignments, [Child's name] will independently develop his ideas fully and will write passages that contain well developed main ideas and give at least 3 details in each paragraph, and [Child's name] will demonstrate this ability in all content areas and all settings.
