Steven Spielberg Dyslexia Inspiration!

Although he wasn’t diagnosed until he was well into his adult life and career as a famous movie director, Steven Spielberg has dyslexia. He was bullied in school like so many kids, including my son.

Steven Spielberg wasn’t homeschooled, but he had great supportive parents, and I thought his story was worth sharing for encouragement to students struggling with dyslexia and bullying.

Steven Spielberg went to college, but ended up dropping out of college mid-way through. He did go back years later to finish his degree–HOORAY for him!

I ran across this video of an interview with Steven Spielberg Dyslexia on the Dyslexia Educational Network. I thought I’d share it with you (the YouTube video will open in a new window). After you watch the video about Steven Spielberg Dyslexia, go check out the Dyslexia Educational Network and see what they have to offer.  ENJOY!

For all of our young people with dyslexia, I hope this video is reassurance to you that you CAN succeed in spite of having dyslexia. I know it’s not easy, but you have gifts and talents to share with the world outside of a school classroom. I pray you find strength and your passion in life and accomplish great things! People with dyslexia ROCK! 😀
