Q: I've heard the Lindamood-Bell is good, but it is so expensive. Is it worth the money?

Answer:

We had our child evaluated by the Lindamood Bell Center here, and looked at the possibility of doing the program, however the costs are exhorbitant and there are no guarantees that it will actually work for your child in the average time frame.. Could be shorter, could be longer and many dollars more.

I ended up getting their program materials and doing some of it at home.. I'm sure the quality of the drill and practice wasn't as intense as at the center, but it was a WHOLE LOT cheaper.

Also.. the "instructors" there are trained, but not all certified teaching personnel or anything. I'm attending college and on our local college's summer employment board, there was an announcements for jobs at the Lindamood-Bell center.. NO prior experience necessary.. One week of training and you can teach these kids! I lost ALL interest in paying the LMB Center the hefty fees when I learned any college student who just went through training could be providing services for my child. Granted, they do have people who work there year-round and who've probably become pretty good at it. I believe interested parents who can read and follow directions can do as well as most college students looking for extra summer cash. ;-)

Go to the Lindamood website and get on their mailing list.. They will send you brochures about upcoming training as well as a catalog of their products. Trust me, it is NOT rocket science and most anyone who can read and follow directions can do the program. ;-) The link for info is in the top page banner at the http://www.lindamoodbell.com/ website -- a button titled "i Info Request".

That's my opinion, for what it's worth!

Best Wishes,
Sandy
